Before and After School Enrichment Programs
The Lorton Station SHP offers a number of before and after school enrichment programs. Registration forms are sent home in student backpacks and posted here for your convenience. Limited scholarships are available, either in the form of cash subsidies or in exchange for volunteer service to the programs; please contact the person in charge of the program, the school's parent liaison, or a school counselor for assistance.
Some before/after school programs require a parent volunteer to help check students in at the beginning of the program, and to ensure that they are all picked up at the end. Parent volunteers get priority placement and the program fee for their child may be either waived or significantly reduced, depending on the program. You do not need any skills in these areas; parent volunteers are needed only for administrative type duties (handling registrations, checking kids in and out, chaperoning to the restroom, etc.). If interested, please contact the SHP's 1st Vice President at [email protected].
If you have an idea for a new program, or are interested in helping to start a new program, please contact the SHP's 1st Vice President at [email protected].
